Currently Asian Longhorned Beetle (ALB) is a pest managed by APHIS (a division of the USDA), and their goal is to eradicate the bug. This often comes at the expense of many healthy trees.
As ALB is found in more places, residents have their voices heard about the current management strategy….removal of all host species (it’s a long list) within a certain mileage of a known infestation.
A grass roots group in Ohio is concerned about the removal of healthy trees in their community. Check out this news report to find out what the citizens have to say.
